Courage is not always fighting a bear It is often just kneeling down in prayer. Courage is not having the strength to move on It is moving on, when your strength is long gone. Courage is not a sudden act of bravery, A show or a grand gesture you can see. It's a part of your years, your days, your every hour, The ability to face anything with His power. Courage does not always mean a roar Nor answering the call to war. Sometimes it is just getting out of bed Trying to forget something someone said. Courage is not always winning a brawl, Sometimes it means you say nothing at all. Courage is facing someone you dread. Yes, there is courage in every tear you shed. Courage is not always the absence of fear But when you stand up for all you hold dear. When you forgive the one who wronged you, And choose to love and begin anew. Courage is not measured in victories and medals It is seen in the overcoming of everyday struggles. Courage springs out of our hope in the Lord, In trusting and obeying His infallible Word. He has not given us a spirit of fear of any kind, But of power, love, and a sound mind. Be strong and courageous, be not afraid, Trust in the promises He has made. Don't be afraid to go forward, Eyes on Him, 'Onwards and Upwards!' Courage is knowing and believing this truth- The Lord, your God is walking with you! "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
